Editorial Policy

The rules we follow so every price, headline and prediction you read on DiskiOdds is sourced, attributed and disclosed transparently.

1. Sourcing

Odds are pulled directly from the operator’s public web feed using the same endpoints their own SPA uses. No human-typed numbers and no syndicated odds-API middleman. Each per-book write to our cache stamps a fetched_at timestamp; the UI surfaces the data freshness on the fixture page. News articles are republished from licensed RSS feeds owned by reputable publishers (KickOff, BBC Sport, The Guardian, ESPN, Sky Sports, SoccerLaduma, OffTheBall and others). We do not republish without a feed relationship in place.

2. Attribution

Every news article credits the original publisher in the byline and links back to the source URL. Our structured-data markup (NewsArticle.isBasedOn) explicitly points crawlers at the original story so the canonical publisher receives credit in search results too. The bookmaker logo, name and licensing number accompany every price comparison row.

3. Predictions

The match prediction shown on each fixture page is derived from API-Football’s public predictions endpoint, which itself aggregates team form, head-to-head record, attacking/defensive strength, Poisson goal-expectancy and home advantage. We display this verbatim with no editorial overlay. Predictions are informational, never financial advice. Always gamble responsibly.

4. Corrections

Spotted an error? Email hello@diskiodds.co.za. Substantive corrections to news articles are noted with a dated stamp at the foot of the piece. Price-feed corrections happen via the next ingestion tick (every 2–10 minutes depending on source) — we don’t edit historic odds by hand.

5. Conflicts of interest & affiliate disclosure

DiskiOdds earns affiliate commission when a reader clicks through to a SA-licensed bookmaker via one of our odds cells or CTA buttons. The clickable cells are marked with a “Live link” chip and a rel="sponsored noopener nofollow" attribute as required by Google’s sponsored-link guidance. Commission has zero influence on:

  • The price shown — pulled from the operator’s own feed
  • The order of comparison rows — best price wins
  • News article selection — the only filter is on-topic SA football
  • Prediction outputs — the model is API-Football’s, not ours

Where we have a commercial relationship with a bookmaker we cover editorially, this is stated explicitly on the bookmaker’s review page (/bookmakers).

6. Compliance

DiskiOdds operates under the South African National Gambling Act (Act 7 of 2004). We feature only operators licensed by the National Gambling Board or a provincial board. We do not promote unlicensed international sportsbooks to SA traffic (s.11). Every page carries the National Responsible Gambling Programme helpline and self-help links. 18+ only.

7. Personal data & privacy

We collect minimal personal information — only what’s needed for affiliate attribution + anonymous analytics. POPIA s.69 consent is captured via the cookie banner before any non-essential tracking fires. Full details in our privacy policy.
